at Washington University
Our
group is one of the osuwa taiko groups founded by Oguchi Daihachi
of Suwa in Nagano, Japan. The group started in St. Louis in the
Fall of 1996 and since then have been activetly performing for various
venues in the mid-western region of the United States. Most of our
drums are the property of St. Louis which were donated to the city
by Grandmaster Oguchi more than 15 years ago. We maintain and build
our own drums and also perform songs that vary from traditional
japanese taiko songs composed by Grandmaster Oguchi and other contemporary
songs which were composed by our members and friends.
